Best of Memphis - Three-Peat
I realize that my blog mostly sucks now - (even though it's still the best place on the web to find out the cool happenings in midtown Memphis) - but the thing is if I wrote about traveling, hanging out with musicians, and going to afterparties all the time - it would just be obnoxious.
So, I deserve to be recognized for not writing about that stuff..
Party blogging is so 2005 anyway... JUST KIDDING!!!
Vote for me cause I bought you a beer, or stayed away from your boyfriend, or, well, I'm sure you can think of something...
Not that I deserve it, but I hate to lose - so vote for me for Best Memphis Blog
Help me get a three-peat!!!
Here's the link to vote...

Shamelful Self Promotion
Well, I'm really not that ashamed...
Anyway, I was interviewed by Mike Hollihan for the lead article in this month's Main Street Journal. It's a story about why people choose to come to Memphis.
I don't think you can read it online, so if you're actually interested - you'll have to go pick it up...
Main Street Journal is the leading monthly news magazine in Memphis. Main Street Journal premiered in September of 2005.
Copies of the Main Street Journal can be found in Borders, Davis-Kidd, Barnes and Noble Bookstores, as well as branches of the Memphis Public Library

A Taste of Cooper-Young
The first annual Taste of Cooper Young will be on Thursday, July 26, 2007. The event will be similar to a progressive dinner, in which guests will be able to sample food from a variety of Cooper-Young-based restaurants. Participating restaurants include Tsunami, The Beauty Shop, Do Sushi & Lounge, Cafe Ole, Young Avenue Deli, Celtic Crossing and the brand new Sweet Desserterie. The evening will start with a pre-dinner cocktail at Burke’s Bookstore and proceed through the participating restaurants. Tickets are $50 and are available on the MLC website (www.memphisliteracycouncil.org) or via phone at 327-6000 Ext 1006.
At each restaurant, guests will receive a sampling of that restaurant's food. After completing the circuit of restaurants, guests will return to the Memphis Literacy Council for a band, wine and a Cooper-Young themed silent auction. They will also be voting for their favorite dish to be crowned the People’s Choice award. All proceeds for the evening will go to the Memphis Literacy Council to help adults and families improve their reading so they can be healthy, productive, self-sufficient members of society.

It's Ok Patrick, I'm Obviously Retarded TOO
| | The Window Shopper Random Gentle Love Dreamer (RGLD)
Loving, hopeful, open. Likely to carry on an romance from afar. You are The Window Shopper.
You take love as opportunities come, which can lead to a high-anxiety, but high-flying romantic life. You're a genuinely sweet person, not saccharine at all, so it's likely that the relationships you have had and will have will be happy ones. You've had a fair amount of love experience for your age, and there'll be much more to come.
Your exact female opposite: The Stiletto Deliberate Brutal Sex Master | Part of why we know this is that, of all female types, you are the most prone to sudden, ferocious crushes. Your results indicate that you're especially capable of obsessing over a guy you just met. Obviously, passion like this makes for an intense existence. It can also make for soul-destroying letdowns.
Your ideal match is someone who'll love you back with equal fire, and someone you've grown to love slowly. A self-involved or pessimistic man is especially bad. Though you're drawn to them, avoid artists at all costs.
BEWARE: The Hornivore (RBSM)
CONSIDER: The Gentleman (DGLM), The Loverboy (RGLM), The Boy Next Door (RGLD) |
