The Daily Grift

Yesterday was a lot. The FBI director fired the agents who investigated his boss – then we found out he’d been at a hockey game on your dime while it all went down. A state that can’t keep its own mothers alive filed a bill to execute women for abortions. And the richest man in global health admitted he got blackmailed by Jeffrey Epstein and kept showing up for meetings anyway. Here’s what you missed.

The Full-Service Cover-Up: Kash Patel Fires the Investigators, Cannon Seals the Report, and Nobody’s Watching Because the FBI Director Is at a Hockey Game

Kash Patel fired at least ten FBI agents yesterday for the crime of having investigated his boss. This happened the same week that Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon permanently sealed the special counsel report on the classified documents case – the one the public paid for and has never been allowed to read. Congressman Ted Lieu called it an epic cover-up. He might be underselling it. Meanwhile, three days ago, Patel was in Milan at the Winter Olympics on a government Gulfstream jet, chugging beers in the hockey locker room. In 2023, he publicly said his predecessor didn’t need a government jet for vacations. On the record. From his mouth.

It’s a full-service cover-up. Coordinated. Multi-branch. And extremely well-staffed – except for the ten people who just got fired for doing their jobs.

Bill Gates Just Admitted to Two Affairs. That’s Not Even the Story.

Bill Gates stood in front of his entire Foundation staff yesterday and admitted he had two affairs with Russian women – one a bridge player, one a nuclear physicist. Which is a sentence I did not expect to type. But the affairs aren’t actually the story. Jeffrey Epstein found out about at least one of them and used it as leverage. Gates’ own spokesperson confirmed it. A convicted sex offender had something on the man who basically runs global health – and Gates kept meeting with him anyway. For years. After the guilty plea. His wife saw it coming and told him so. He chose the guy running a blackmail operation out of a Manhattan townhouse over her judgment.

The real scandal isn’t the affairs. It’s what it means when the man who sets global health policy for billions of people has personal leverage points a convicted predator already knew about.

Tennessee’s Kill Bill: The State That Can’t Keep Mothers Alive Wants to Execute Them Instead

Tennessee has quietly filed a bill that could make abortion patients eligible for the death penalty. The words “death penalty” don’t appear anywhere in the text – that’s kind of the point. One of the co-sponsors is currently running for governor on a platform of liberty and less government. He compared abortion pills to cyanide. The state ranks dead last in the country for maternal mortality – not second to last, last. The March of Dimes gave them 48 out of 48.

This bill probably won’t pass right now. The Senate sponsor admitted it doesn’t have the votes. But that’s not really what it’s for.
